Parliament honours ‘Slumdog Millionaire’


‘Slumdog Millionaire’. A name that has not taken rest since the day it won the Oscar laurels. Frequently it is hitting the headlines, grabbing some recognition or the other. Now latest is that the movie has attracted the country’s political house, the Parliament. The Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar will honour the Indian crew behind the movie comprising of Music Director A R Rahman, Lyricist Gulzar and Sound Designer Resul Pookutty. The award ceremony will be held on 3rd August along with special screening for the Members of the Parliament.
This is a truly an unusual gesture by the Parliament to go out of its way to praise and honour an entertainment project.
Besides this, on the home front, the music maestro will be bestowed with yet another doctorate by the Anna University, Chennai.
