Pooja says don’t believe rumours2010.

pooja“I will continue to work in films from June. Please do not believe rumours that I am to quit acting”, says actress Pooja.
Pooja made her debut in Tamil films opposite Madhavan in ‘Je Je’. There was a recent rumour in the media that Pooja is to wed soon and after that she would not return to her acting career. Pooja says she never said such a thing.
“I will continue to act in films. After ‘Naan Kadavul’, I decided that I will do good films only if the character I play is good. I have turned down at least 15 offers. My parents are getting on in age and I have a 90 year old grandma. It’s my responsibility to take care of them.
So, I’m just taking some time off to take care of them and be with them. My father wants to see me married. To make my parents happy, I agreed to and I gave them time till June to find a bridegroom for me. But after June, I will resume acting. I will soon make a formal announcement about the new film I will be acting in.  Without even checking with me, it has been reported falsely in the media that I have given up acting altogether. There is no truth in that”, clarifies Pooja.

(simbu)Racy Friday in Chennai Box Office

Rather than terming it as a ‘Racy Friday’, we can better assume it to be a happening weekend for film buffs. Uh-huh! We have three big releases in Hindi and Tamil that’ll manifestly keep us occupied for this weekend.

Of course, Gowtham Menon’s ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya’ doesn’t need any introduction as the film has been making high waves in town over the past few days. The other couple of Hindi releases have indeed kept the ardent buffs yet more engrossed.

Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Teen Patti’ and Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’ holds special mention for its production values and unique storylines. Big B’s ‘Teen Patti’ is loosely based on Hollywood thriller ‘21’ that revolves around a professor and his group of selected students involved in the game of cards for money-spinning intentions. ‘Gandhi’ fame Ben Kingsley, Amitabh Bachchan and Madhavan are playing lead roles in this film.

The other release ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’ is produced by makers of ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, ‘Don’ and ‘Rock On’. The film features filmmaker-turned-actor Farhan Akhtar in lead role with Deepika Padukone as his ladylove. ‘KCK’ is centered on an introvert named Karthik, whose life completely changes after he receives a call from stranger, who also claims to be Karthik.

For sure, these things should’ve briefed you about the releases to come ahead on this Friday…. Keep logging to this column for more updates on these films…
